Luna was shining brightly, when the clouds finally passed .
And such is life.
Ebbs and flows.
Brightest and darkness.

There are times…
When you need someone, I will be by your side.
There is a light shines…
Special for you and me.
The @choclatgirlwunda and I had to make a quick trip to TN to check on our people.
I’m so happy that our bond has broken generational curses and has continued to heal our lineage.
We continue to move towards the light.
This is a piece I work on regularly.
Being accountable for the energy I bring into a space and the awareness of the parts of the energy being reflected back to me.
I used to think all of the “bad things that happened/happen to me” were karma for some “bad” I did…
I excused a lot of my toxicity and the toxicity of others because we had and created bad karma.
A couple of things I know now and this reminds me of :
1. I choose to be responsible and accountable for the energy that I bring into a space.
2. I am always free to choose. I am not free from the consequences of my choices.
3. I have not always made the choice that aligned with my highest good or self and it has negatively impacted myself and others.
4. I am not “bad.”
I am also not “good.”
I am a spiritual being having a human experience, as I learn and grow I become more capable of making the decisions that are the most balanced and do the least harm to humanity.
5. Every one will not see me as a blessing.
6. It is not my responsibility to make people see me as a blessing.
7. Keep the second agreement. Don’t take what others perceive, think, or say about you personally. You can try it on and see if it fits, but you are under no obligation to keep it.

The Day of the Dead is a time of celebration and remembrance of loved ones who have passed away.
Things you can do to honor transitioned loved ones: visit the gravesite and pull weeds, clean any debris and decorate the graves of loved ones. Place candles, flowers and the favorite foods of the deceased are placed on the grave. Visit, eat, sing or play music and tells favorite stories about those who have passed.
For those for whom visiting the gravesite is not viable, set up an altar.
Altars are usually decorated with flowers, candles, pan de muerto, ceramic skulls, and most importantly pictures of loved ones.
Food placed on the altar consists of the loved ones favorite dishes and treats. Drinks should be placed in the altar to quench the thirst of the dead after their long journey back home.
Salt is considered the spice of life and is one the staples that are often left at the altar. The scents of marigolds as well as burning copal (a resin of the copal tree) are thought to be most beloved by the spirits of the dead and invite them back home.
The rituals used to celebrate the day are varied and colorful. Yet, all carry the same message, celebrating the day of the dead is a true celebration of life.
